Johnson Family Portraits {Sneak Peek}

I won't even tell you tonight the drama of this red chair.  But fun was had by all, in the end.  And Travis was a fantastic sport about hauling the thing around.  Don't have time to upload much tonight, but I sure had a blast with these friends today.

Ain't they purty? I've been looking forward to taking their pictures.

Yes, our distinguished pastor...

Bridal Portraits {not a sneak peek}

I love doing bridal portraits, but I DON'T like that we have to keep the fun shots a secret for so long!  You'll have to wait awhile to see this week's blushing bride....

BUT....along the way we encountered this interesting dude.  Hmmmm...

He told me he actually makes more money this way.

So keep it real, guys!

Davis Family Portraits {SNEAK PEEK}

 I think I went a little bonkers with this photo shoot.   I had a lot of fun. It's always so hard for me to choose sneak peek photos....I finally just choose some and stick them on here.
I loved the way their realness SHINED through (finally fixed my previously horrendous grammar) .

She was lookin' so great in that red suit.
I already told Gene today that his legs look great, so he doesn't need any more compliments.
Don't tell David I complimented Gene's legs.  Please.

Notice Angie's left hand....(her texting machine!).  We caught it and did the rest of this shot w/o it, but this one is my favorite because it's there.  I'm lovin' it.  It should just be there.

A heartbreaker....He comes alive in front of a lens.

And I love the way this kid's mind works....Brilliantly original and out of the box.

Not a pair you wanna mess with...

Naomi - 3 month old {Sneak Peak}

Yes, Diane - David went a little crazy and changed things to purple (check it out - even the stitching, ear & nose are purple!).  But don't worry - we also have it in the original color.

We had a fun morning Labor Day session.  Naomi was a trooper.  She even gave us some precious thumb-sucking-sleeping moments.  I've got a picnic to get to but I couldn't resist a couple of sneak peaks.

Daddy kisses.....

Beautiful Smiles.....

An awesome family....

Greg & Debbie {Wedding}

Greg & Debbie's wedding was incredible:
(Debbie is David's sister, by the way)

The details were exquisite

The church was magnificent - the way churches should be...

The couple was romantic
(well...I think they still are!)

The wedding party was hilarious

The day was a blast
I'm uploading from my "favorites folder" and there are just too many. I think I'm going to have to post a big album to facebook so you can relive the day with us.

By the way, Honey - "Wow" on the edits. You never cease to amaze me. Can't wait to shoot another wedding with you tomorrow!

Josh & Jodi - January 31

The flower girl was supposed to give him a kiss on the cheek, but she had bigger plans. The Bible Bearer pretended not to like it, but she was a cutie patootie.

Jodi & her sister
The uncle of the groom and the flower girl were sharing a moment....
His first glance at her...his face says it all.
Click the picture to see their smiles up closer.

This picture made me cry - click to see the emotion up close.

A Winter Wonderland!

Bradley and Elizabeth

The Bible Bearer (Dylan Waggoner) found a golden spot to hide out during pictures.

Steve (the father of the Groom) was writing a letter to his new daughter Elizabeth.

He read it to her during the toasts and speaches. "You're my daughter now." Signed, "Love Dad"
What a moment.

A little dance
Did I mention that I loved the tent?
And what a GORGEOUS wedding party!

I was so tickled to catch this "almost kiss" moment between Brent (brother of the Groom) and his girl.

Summer Grasses

" I walk without flinching through the burning cathedral of the summer. My bank of wild grass is majestic and full of music. It is a fire that solitude presses against my lips."

~Violette Leduc

Time Enough

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. ~Rabindranath Tagore

Living Seed

You know those white pollen seeds that float out of the trees in the middle of summer, looking for a place to land and sprout? Deep in the mountain forests of West Virginia, we discovered that some of those tiny fluffy floaters were actually living creatures! Amazing.

Dragonfly

Deep in the sun-searched growths

Hangs like a blue thread
loosened from the sky.

Impossibility

Aerodynamically the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it, so it goes on flying anyway. ~Mary Kay Ash

Heart Dance

Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another. ~Author Unknown

Fresh Picked

I am not bound for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of the woods. Better than any argument is to rise at dawn and pick dew-wet red berries in a cup.

~Wendell Berry

Tiny Beauty

"If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." ~ Audra Foveo

Consider

Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer. ~ Proverbs 30:25

Family

What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories. ~George Eliot

Fountain

Fast shutter speed is amazing. If you care, click the photo to see the enlarged micro-drops and streaks paused mid-splash. What a wonder.

A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles. ~Washington Irving

Lasting Love

By David Fry
We believe commitment is the glue that holds marriage together. Sadly, most people miss out on the joy of being together with the one they love. Once a couple is married too often the individuals begin to develop individual commitments that slowly but steadily pull the marriage apart. The things that they once enjoyed and the sights and sounds that once drew them to one another are replaced by individual interests, hobbies, jobs, and relationships that deteriorate the glue of commitment.
Marriage is about writing a story--the story of two people in love. We are committed to writing one story, not two;
one story in which there are two people who are creating a history from which they cannot quickly become detached.
We believe that one way to maintain the proper focus in marriage is to enjoy each other. This means sharing interests, ideas, and time doing what both people enjoy. To this end, we seek to spend our time doing what we can enjoy together.
We do not seek recreation for its own sake. Recreation, we believe, serves as an opportunity to rest the mind, recuperate the body, and--for purposes here--to deepen relationship. Jeremy Taylor in his classic Holy Living says it this way:
Do not allow your recreations to take up too much of your time,
but choose those that are healthful, short, transient,
and recreative, designed to refresh you. Avoid games
which require much time or which are apt to steal your
affections for more worthy activity. For to whatever you have
given your affections, you will not grudge to give your time.
God designed marriage to be a means of grace, a means whereby we may be sharpened as individuals in our own relationship with God. In order to prevent our marriage from being a source of strife, we value like passions and interests. This blog represents time and energy that we put into each other. Each picture is in some way or another a glimpse into our lives. They express our way of seeing the world in a thousand words, words that sometimes are not easily spoken.
Though marriage is much more complicated than simply sharing a hobby together, we believe that little things such as this go a long way in sustaining a relationship. The things that we enjoy together help us to enjoy each other. This being so, photography, in our case, is only a recreation. Our leading business is to love our Creator and to enjoy him forever. Let this, therefore,
Be our leading business and all others occasional employments
